The North American Rescue HyFin® Vent Chest Seal is designed for the emergency treatment of penetrating chest injuries that may result in an open or tension pneumothorax. Its patented 3-channel vent system is engineered to help prevent air from entering the chest cavity during inhalation while allowing air and blood to escape through the vent channels during exhalation.

The three-channel design also provides an added level of reliability. If one or even two channels become obstructed by blood or other contaminants, the remaining vent channel is designed to continue functioning.

Advanced hydrogel adhesive technology helps maintain a strong seal in demanding conditions, including when the patient’s skin is wet, bloody, sweaty, hairy, or exposed to environmental contaminants. A large red pull tab allows for quick, single-step peel-and-apply application, while the transparent backing makes it easier to position the seal directly over the wound and monitor the affected area.

Each HyFin Vent Chest Seal is packaged in a compact, rugged foil pouch featuring North American Rescue’s Red Tip Technology® tear notches for rapid access. A gauze pad is also included to help wipe and prepare the wound area before application.

The HyFin Vent Chest Seal is designed for use by EMS professionals, military personnel, law enforcement, first responders, and trauma care providers and is built to meet the demands of emergency and field environments.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
